Alongside his work as a practicing artist, Jason Gibilaro is also a creative facilitator developing and guiding creative initiatives that engage the community. This includes collaborating with health professionals raising awareness of health and wellbeing and addressing local health inequalities.
Recent activities have included contributing to Lambeth Big Connect with Certitude, participating in the Lambeth Country Show with the Community Fridge Network, engaging with the London Social Prescribing Network, and delivering a lecture on Social Prescribing for postgraduate students on UCL’s Creative Health programme. This explored research‑led practice, community engagement, non‑clinical approaches to health and wellbeing, and experiential learning. He is also the Creative Facilitator and Project Manager for Inclusion Arts.

Eco Connections will mark a transition from these previous working methods towards new ways of collaborating with artists and communities. It will look to explore approaches that embed artists within community contexts, enabling their creative practice to contribute more directly to addressing health inequalities and supporting wellbeing.

Through the development of new pathways, partnerships, and networks, Eco Connections will pilot an evolving support framework for artists. This aims to help artists balance their creative practice with meaningful community engagement, while expanding their role as contributors to public health and wellbeing.
